DESIGN
PRINCIPLE
The AHOW
Series pumps are submersible type pumps with a motor which is
completely submerged under water during operation. In fact the unit gives
satisfactory performance only when completely submerged. These pumps
are primarily 'centrifugal' types and are either of single
stage or two stage design. The suction and delivery openings
are provided with a threading suitable for direct coupling of respective
pipes. The impellar is mounted on the extended motor shaft and it transmits
a radial motion to the water from the center outwards with a minimum
of hydraulic loss converting kinetic energy to pressure energy and delivers
the water through the volute. Two stage pumps work with two sets of
Impellars & Volutes back to back in series. The front Impellar sucks
water and discharges it through the first volute into an intermittent
chamber and the second Impellar transmits energy to the water and discharges
it out to the delivery pipe through the second volute casing. The axial
hydraulic thrusts are perfectly balanced by the back-to-back arrangement
on the same shaft and thus avoid overloading of the motor bearings.
PUMP
APPLICATION AND INSTALLATION
openwell submersible pumps are suitable for pumping clean &
clear water not containing abrasive particles aggressive to the pump
components. The pumps are specifically designed for high reliability
and continuous use in heavy duty agricultural and industrial applications.
Common applications are marginal farming / orchards / residential buildings
/ bunglows / hotels / hospitals / clubs / lawn sprinklers / car - washing
/ water circulation and hydropneumatic systems.
AHOW Series pumps combine the advantages of a Submersible
Pump with the performance of a Monobloc Centrifugal pump. As Submersible
pumps they assure reliable operation even at considerable depth and
at the same time perform with stable outputs as in the case of Centrifugal
pumps.
These pumps are installed only in a horizontal position in a
similar manner of centrifugal monobloc pumps ensuring that the complete
unit is fully submerged under water. The suction end pipe is to be connected
with a strainer at the pipe end. In case the water level is expected
to drop or if the pump is mounted above the water level a hose - pipe
is to be connected to the delivery pipe to spray water over the motor
and pump.
