SELECTION
OF MOTORS.
three phase induction motors are characterised by simple robust
design and reliable operation. Freedom from maintenance and excellent
technical parameters make these motors most dependable and reliable
for all applications. Motors are selected for specific applications
firstly according to Power, Torque and Speed after comparison of the
Torque / Speed characteristics of the driven machine and the proposed
motor. Secondly, taking account of the duty cycle, ambient conditions,
degree of protection (e.g. IP54, IP55, IP56 etc.) Voltage variations
and starting voltage drops (due to long cables) type of mounting, drive
shaft size and any other special requirements.
